Life and Safety Consultants is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for a long-term contract position (2 years) located in Charleston, South Carolina. Schedule: 60 hours/week

About the Role

The Safety Manager will lead and manage the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program for the project site, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards. This position involves hands-on oversight of field and project safety staff, implementation of corporate safety initiatives, and coordination across departments to maintain a safe working environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of corporate and project-specific EHS programs.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and job site walkthroughs.
• Manage and deliver safety training programs in compliance with OSHA and company policy.
• Investigate and document workplace incidents and accidents; follow up with claims as needed.
• Organize and lead regular safety meetings and accident review committees.
• Prepare and analyze safety reports and trends; identify opportunities for risk mitigation and cost savings.
• Provide EHS input for new projects and regulatory compliance planning.
• Support OSHA reporting and maintain compliance documentation.
• May supervise field safety personnel and/or training staff.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in safety management and training.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations.
• Demonstrated experience conducting accident investigations and incident reporting.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
